I had no intentions of baking the rest of this week; however, last night that all changed. I got home and the hubs told me I needed to test out some chocolate peanutbutter cupcakes. So....we baked up some chocolate peanut butter cupcakes! They turned out SO good. And the batter actually made a FULL 24 cupcakes! I usually only get about 15-18 cupcakes out of my batter.
I brought them to work with me today and delivered them to all of the people that send me contracts (my work). Should I really be rewarding the people that give me work to do?? Hmmm...Good thought!
Next on the agenda to bake (this weekend) is white chocolate raspberry, chocolate chile, and chocolate chip cookie dough! Feel free to post ideas and I will be sure to make them!

Maple-Bacon Cupcakes??
Yesterday Will and I decided to use some personal time and each work a half day. We went home, layed out in sun, watched a movie, and baked up some maple-bacon cupcakes! I have been leery of this idea from the beginning; however, Will insisted they would be good. Well - they aren't bad, but they aren't my favorite. Will loved them! They acually tasted like a waffle with maple and bacon inside with a creamy maple butter on top. The icing was very good! I believe that these would be a big seller if I ever get a shop opened. People seem to really love the salty/sweet combinations! I took all of these cupcakes to my sister-in-law's office. So far I've gotten good feed back on them!
Next on the baking agenda:
Chocolate-Peanut Butter
White Choolate Raspberry
Maple-Bacon Cupcake with Maple Buttercream Frosting
On a different note, Holly decided to put her hair in pig tails all by herself last night. Not too bad for a three-year-old!

Cake Rattle and Roll
This was a VERY busy weekend for me and my family. My twin sister got married on Friday night, Saturday was her wedding shower, and then Sunday we had my siblings, nieces, nephews, parents, and grandparents over for Mother's Day. I also baked chocolate-hazelnut cupcakes on Friday night, key lime cupcakes on Saturday night, chocolate cupcakes with chocolate icing Sunday morning, and caramel turtle cupcakes on Sunday night! I spent A LOT of time in the kitchen. So far the chocolate-hazelnut are my favorite!
Friday night I made chocolate-hazelnut cupcakes and took them to my sister-in-law's Shark Tank watch party. Needless to say, there were none left! They are fantastic!

Saturday night Will and I made keylime cupcakes for my family that was coming over on Sunday! They kind of remind me of a key lime pie. They were sweet but also made you pucker.
Key Lime Cupcake with Key Lime Cream Cheese Frosting
Saturday night after making the key lime cupcakes, I realized the seven children coming to the house the next day probably won't appreciate the key lime cupcakes; therefore, I decided to get up on Sunday morning and make some chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting. The kids (especially Holly) seemed to really enjoy them!

Sunday night I was going to my friend Stephanie's house to study for our Astronomy final that is this coming Wednesday. Well - we didn't do much studying. We actually ended up baking! We made caramel turtle cupcakes with caramel frosting! That means NO MORE BAKING until after my final! I guess I need to find another stress reliever. People take their stress out in all different kinds of ways. I take care of my stress by baking. And no, I do not insist on eating them all after I make them! I only taste them to make sure they are good, and then I take them to work or to a friend or family member.

This wraps up my weekend of baking. I hope to make another kind later this week or this weekend. I will take any suggestions, and try to at least attempt all of the suggestions I do get!

Cupcakes and Thread
For the past few months my husband has been coming up with these crazy, and some not so crazy, ideas for cupcakes and other desserts. I told him we would start testing out some recipes soon. Last night we started our adventure (well I've been baking for years) and made a lemon cupcake with lemon curd filling and lemon cream cheese icing. They were fabulous and beautiful!
We are going to test out three other cupcakes this weekend. Tonight's cupcake is going to be a chocolate hazelnut, tomorrow is keylime, and Sunday is maple-bacon. I will post pictures as I complete each one. Another thing that I love doing is sewing. I am currently working on a quilt for my daughter, Holly.
My mom made me a quilt when I was a baby and I still have it, and I want Holly to have her quilt for years and years to come, too. In the past few months I've made pajama pants for my nieces, some baby blankets, and Holly's quilt. My mom is the one who taught me how to sew and cook. For every holiday we always had homemade food, and I have been in the kitchen helping for many years. I guess I've developed a love for cooking! Wait, let me rephrase that...I have a love of baking -not cooking. I can bake just about anything and it will turn out pretty good, if not great; however, I can not for the life of me cook bacon! My husband is the one that has to cook the bacon in our house. EVERYTIME I even attempt to make it, I burn it. I guess some people just aren't cut out for cooking bacon. I will be using my blog to keep track of all the yummy things I bake. I won't be posting the recipes as of now, but if you see something you like just email me and I'll send you the recipe. Happy Baking!
